Kristy Dai Dancer
Kristy Dai grew up in Fremont, CA, training at multiple competition studios across Northern California under the direction of Yoko Young of Yoko's Performing Arts Academy and Tawnya Kuzia of NorCal Dance Arts. She earned her BFA in Dance Performance at the University of California, Irvine in 2016 where she received an Excellence in Dance Performance Award from the department and was a member of esteemed modern choreographer Donald McKayle's Etude Ensemble for two years.
Since graduating, Kristy has performed works alongside Re:borN Dance Interactive as well as continued to pursue her interest in movement and creation in Southern California and beyond. She has gone on to train through intensives with Hubbard Street Dance Chicago and Portland's Northwest Dance Project where she studied with artists such as Glenn Edgerton, Olivier Wevers, Helene Blackburn and Sarah Slipper. More recently in 2018, Kristy has worked with the talents of Erica Sobol, Tilman O'Donnell, Medhi Walerski, Jermaine Spivey, Spencer Myles, and Adi Savant through the Gypsy Project: LA and has collaborated with choreographers such as Menghan Lou and Kristen Céré in the creation of new works in Portland, OR. Kristy currently lives in Los Angeles where she is represented by Go2Talent Agency in Burbank, CA and is an instructor at Club Pilates.
